Amy Perry, LMBT

I became interested in massage years ago when a friend, who is a massage therapist, shared with me some of the benefits of massage for pain reduction. At that time, I worked in an office and sat at a computer most of the day. My neck and shoulders ached on a daily basis. After a few treatments from my friend, my neck and shoulder pain were greatly reduced. It was then that I knew I'd be a massage therapist some day, too.

Fast forward about 8 years, and through many other "jobs", to last year when I was looking for a long over-due career change. I was stumped on what direction to head in, when a friend said to me "whatever happened to you wanting to be a massage therapist?" Oh yea, I did have that dream a long time ago, didn't I?! So after some research for a school and some schedule juggling with my job, I began night classes in July of 2010 at The Medical Arts School. It was a long, hard year of working full time and going to school at night, but it was all worth it! I graduated at the end of June this year and became licensed in August.

There are many different modalities that can be used in massage and I enjoy them all. Whether it's a swedish massage for relaxation or a deep tissue massage for pain reduction, or to help correct postural imbalances, I want to encourage everyone to make their own health and wellness a priority. Massage is beneficial on so many levels for people of all ages.

I am excited about this new path I've chosen and look forward to all the clients I will get to meet and work with on my journey. I am thankful to Kim, Leacy, Lindsey, Tara, and Katherine for welcoming me into their wonderful group.
